Kristina E. Miceli

Kristina is the Owner/Director of Power House Dance Academy. She graduated from Queens Borough Community College where she received a degree in Fine Arts. She performed in two pieces choreographed by Robert Battle and has also performed a piece that was choreographed by Urban Bush Women's dance company. In pursuing her dream to perform for others she danced in the SUNY Purchase production of The Nutcracker with the SUNY Purchase Dance Core and the New York City Ballet, as well as being in the movie, The Little Children starring Kate Winslet. In the summer of 2012 Kristina was lead choreographer for Fame Theatrical Productions musical called Seussical the Musical. She has been teaching Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Nursery classes for the past 15 years. In the fall of 2012 Kristina received her licensing and certification in Zumba, Zumbatomic, and Aqua-Zumba. She was a member of an award winning competition team for over 10 years. Kristina has choreographed many award winning performances from large to small groups as well as, solo's where her students received many high platinum, platinum, high score awards, and special judge awards competing against hundreds of dance routines from the tri-state area. She choreographed an award winning large group performance achieving the “MOST ENTERTAINING AWARD” at Inferno Dance Competition where Kristina also won the very prestigious “OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY AWARD” for her work on a solo performance of "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. This past 2018-2019 competition season, Kristina once again won the distinguished "OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY AWARD" for a co-choreographed piece with Alexandra Scacalossi, "Hallelujah", by Pentatnoix from Dance X Plosions. Kristina also choreographed a solo called "Roxie", by Renee Zellweger this past season which achieved the "Teen Miss Dance Award" at the very reputable KAR Dance Competition. 

Alexandra Scacalossi

 Alexandra began dancing at the age of four. She is a graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art & the Performing Arts. During her time at LaGuardia she studied Ballet, Graham and Horton technique. Alexandra had the privilege of working with choreographers Elisa King and Daniel Gwirtzman in the Graduation Dance Concert at LaGuardia. She also studied with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, during their summer intensives. There she studied the Taylor technique and worked alongside current and former company members. She also had the opportunity of learning and performing Taylor's repertoire. To keep herself up to date with dance, she takes a variety of dance classes at Broadway Dance Center.  Alexandra has been an instructor for the past 10 years, teaching all ages and all areas of dance. She also teaches private lessons, to students who strive to get into performing arts high schools, with great success.  Alexandra is very excited to be at Power House Dance Academy to share her knowledge of dance with her students.Alexandra is currently co-teaching the PHD competition team. In their first season, she won the choreography award for "Hallelujah", by Pentatonix from Dance X Plosions, alongside studio owner, Kristina Miceli. She was also awarded a special judge award “breathe of fresh air” for her piece “A Moment Apart”. The award recognized and admired her choreography and tribute to modern dance.

Briana Brink-Rivera

 For the past six years Briana Brink-Rivera has been teaching ballet technique and various styles of musical theatre to young aspiring dancers. Her knowledge and passion for teaching has come from her 24 years of ballet and dance experience with School of American Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet School, and New York Conservatory for the Arts. She has performed in several of Joffrey's Nutcrackers and Spring Concerts, Disney, Universal Studios, and most recently Dances Patrelle's Yorkville Nutcracker. In her spare time she will also perform in community theatre productions, her most recent being Cabaret and La Cage aux Folles. Briana's goal for her students is not only to improve their technique but to instill an everlasting passion and confidence for whatever it is they want to achieve.

Macayla Focarino

Macayla has been dancing for fifteen years now since the age of two. She has taken all types of dance including ballet, technique, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and tap. During her dance career she has also competed in many dance competitions winning awards such as first place overall and a special award from Inferno Dance Competition “Live Your Life” to recognize her passion for modern dance during a master class. She has been assistant teaching for four years now and is very excited to join the Power House Dance Academy staff to share her knowledge and passion for dance with the students.

Kalista Licato

Kalista’s love for dance began at age 3. She has years of experience as a choreographer and acro teacher. Over the years, she has trained in various styles of dance including acrobatics, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, tap, and ballet. As a dancer, she received many high scoring 1st place titles in notable competitions such as That’s Entertainment Performing Arts Competition, DreamMaker Talent Competition, Imagine Dance Challenge, and KAR Dance Competition. She has taught and mentored many students who received numerous high scoring and winning titles at the above mentioned competitions. Kalista is eager to share her love for dance and acro experience with her students.
